Lily's First Giggle

Lily's favorite time her during her diaper changes when we play and smile. She got out her first little giggle today, still a work in progress, like she is trying to get it out, I look forward to full blown giggles very very soon!

Look at my little Cupcake sitting supported in her boppy! Such a little girl getting bigger everyday!

We Were Busy...Last Week

There is my big boy dressed up in his big boy cloths to head off to the Bel Air BBQ Fest. We told him he was hansom and he kept putting his hands in the air saying "me handsome."

The last picture just caught me...I thought he was SO big here and so grown up...wow was I wrong...look at those chubby ankles :)

The BBQ fest was fun, but really only because we had our family and I got to dress up my babies.

Lily is SOOOOO pretty!

Only kids can go to a BBQ fest and eat pizza.

Daddy and Lily held out for the good stuff!

But Johnny would eat and share anything, especially with his kindred wild spirit cousin Sammi.

I took this picture one afternoon during Johnny's nap, so we can see all of his "friends."

Maybe not our best parenting choice but we bought Johnny this new Dinosaur Train set, out of the blue becuase he found it in the store and we couldn't take it away. It is one of the first toys that has been put out with his favorite TV show.

He was so sweet for days after we bought it, he LOVES it! Some how during lunch after we bought this he after ravioli without getting any sauce on his face, cloths or table!

Johnny doesn't really sing, he yells out random words that are in the song, too cute!

I know Lily is getting close to giving us a solid giggle! She is such a good baby and happy so often! She barely every cries!

The sweetness and innocence is over whelming, it makes me want to cry.

We wanted to put Johnny into a preschool program this year, but their aren't any for 2 year olds in our area, so instead we have been doing school time everyday after his nap and working on colors, shapes, numbers, letters and the like. We both really enjoy this direct focused time as Lily is still napping.

Johnny picks up on everything! When Lily isn't in her swing he tucks in his T Rex and when Lily is done with her bottle he "needs to feed teransouris."

2 and a half years old! I should be buying 2T and start buying 3T...I should be settled nicely into the toddler section...BUT NOOOOOOOO I turned around and MY 2 and half year old now needs 4s and 5s.....that means we now shop in the boys department.

Yesterday Mommy had a wonderful shopping trip with Grams and Lily, but when I got home and started looking in Johnny's closet and realized he had been wearing the same cloths over and over again all summer and those were starting to looks small. He must have had a growth spurt and from one moment to the next he had no cloths that fit. I started panicking and almost cried...how did I let this happen? As I started figuring out what to cut out so we can buy new cloths Grams and Pops called and wanted to take us shopping. We went to Arundel Mills Mall and got some amazing deals thanks to no tax week!

And Lily just keeps getting more and more adorable! Daddy loves his little girl!!

Healing VERY Well

This past week Johnny spent with his arm bandaged and mostly in the house playing dinosaur games, copying his sister and watching Go Deigo Go and Dora the Explorer. But Finally his rash is clearing up and his burn is nearly gone.

Not many people saw his burn when it was bad, we didn't take pictures and it was rapped constantly, but this is a beautiful sight! The burn itself is gone...Now what we have is sweet and tender new skin, replacing what was hurt.

This was the worst of it, a very large blister that popped itself immediately and was a large open wound for those first days. It is flat now with no scab. We saw the John's Hopkins Burn Center again today and for the last time. After some paper work issues the wonderful doctor said it looked beautiful and now we just have to keep stretching his hand open and keep it nice and moisturized. We have to keep our eyes open for scaring, since fiber like scar tissue can cause movement issues and it could take up to a year, but he is free and clear to be a normal kid again!
Lily's reflux is MUCH better as well, with the Zantac and Sammi's special vent air bottles. She is spitting up less, eating more and sleeping more soundly! Though she prefers the swing to her bassinet. We think we might even feel the beginning to a tooth!

Now Mommy has a sun burn (yes everyone thought it was very funny that I went to a burn center with a very obvious sun burn) and must heal herself....but like I have been saying for a week....life can finally get back to normal!

2 Months Old

Two months have flown by and our sweet Cupcake has settled very nicely into our precious family.

Johnny loves his little sister and shares his toys with her all the time.

We showed her off to our family in Ohio last week end. Here my cousin's daughter Aislynn who was VERY excited to hold Lily! It was so cute!

Sleeping in her own shade.

Getting kisses from Sammi girl, aren't they sweet? Sammi loves to give kisses to Lily! or maybe she just wants to take a bite out of her nose.
This is the moment we all thought about the next day when we learned Sammi had hand foot and mouth disease....but Lily is still protected with my anti bodies from the womb, she was the least likely kid to get it!

Mommy designed this cupcake hat just for Lily....

And Lily has been a wonderful model for Mommy's new knits and designs.

And look at that head control!
And those smiles that just keep getting bigger, we expected giggles any day now!

Though the past few weeks have been stressful and a little crazy, Lily hasn't stopped growing or being amazingly cute. We had her 2 month well baby appointment this morning.
She is
11 pounds and 7 ounces, 86th percentile...up 3 pounds from her birth weight.
21.75 inches, 49th percentile...up 1.25 inches from birth
14.96 inch head circumference, 51th percentile

I am so happy that she so on par...I was being to believe no child ever fit into these charts :) Even with her weight up to 86th, she is drinking only 4 ounces of formula (no more nursing) about every 4 hours, so she is right on track with about 24 ounces a day. One of the reason we stopped nursing was Lily's reflux issues. She was spitting up so much that we where having to refeed her formula after she spit up all the breast milk. She spits up at nearly every feeding and you must be really careful with her for over an hour after she eats, you can't even touch her belly too hard or the meal comes right back up. We tried putting rice cereal in her formula and any amount that would help her made the formula too thick to get out of the slow flow nipple and the faster nipple made her gag. So Dr. Siskind put her on Zantac. She gets .5 ml twice a day, and she will keep getting that until she out grows the dosage and hopefully she will also have out grown the reflux.

Lily also got her very first vaccines today! They made me very nervous, though Johnny never even had a fever with his vaccines. She got three shots and one oral dosage, so she is now protected from Polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Hemophilus influenza, PCV-7, partially from Rotrovirus which needs a second shot. Of course she cried and I cried (watching the needle pierce tiny chubby baby flesh always bothers me) But she calmed down quickly and then fell back asleep!

Lily sleeps through the night sometimes and sometimes not. But mostly she gets a bottle around 6 and a bath around 7 and heads to bed and then will sleep until after midnight before she wants to eat again. She is sleeping less during the day and wanting to play a lot more! She is very attentive and smiles easily. She also is starting to coo and make little noises, mostly to Johnny and right after her bath as she is getting dressed for bed.

We have been getting a lot more frilly dresses (thanks Grams and Pops) for Lily as she gets ready to head into 3-6 month cloths and Mommy is designing knit bows to match and make her fancy and girly as possible. She has been a wonderful daily blessing and already you can start to see her fun little personality emerging.
