Quarters Kitchen

Nothing too Special...this is quarters...the military says "this is the house you will live in" and you do :) I am lucky enough to have a number of items from my Grandmother's house, the tree cookie jar, her recipe box, the candles of the table...that is just a few...it is like have a piece of her in my house all the time.

It is hard to specially decorate any house, because you don't know how long you will live there or what your next house will look like, so simple is always better.

I thought about cleaning up really nice, like when I know my mom is coming to visit, but I thought the daily life gave more character. This is our dinning room, right off of the kitchen, where we do most of our family activities, okay that is nearly always eating.

There you go! Quarters kitchen. This is military housing. Where that take money directly from your pay check, and handle everything including utilities, on one set monthly price determined by the cost of living in the area off post. A lot of people chose to live off post instead of accepting what you qualifi for and what you are given. I enjoy living on post, where my husband is less then 5 miles from work, police drive through a few times a day and when ever anything breaks a mantance man comes and fixes for you, no charge! Military life isn't always easy and the housing isn't always nice, but it is always what you make of it.

Thanks Kelly!

I grew up in the military and this reminds me of how my mom used to make our military houses into homes. Very nice job!

One of my girlfriends had the funkiest and craziest kitchens I had ever seen in my life - then she explained that she had lived in military housing for so long that when she finally got her own place, she went overboard! I think it's a great space and your table is really cute!
